The Art Cart

The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan (ARTSCO) is excited to introduce The Art Cart — a new community art exchange created and curated by the ARTSCO Youth Arts Council. Located just outside the ARTSCO Community Gallery, The Art Cart is an open, accessible space that invites everyone to share, exchange, and celebrate art in the heart of Kelowna’s Cultural District.

The Art Cart operates on a simple idea: art should be shared, not stored away. Visitors are encouraged to take a piece, leave a piece, or simply explore what others have contributed. From sketches and paintings to zines, small sculptures, and creative notes, The Art Cart grows and changes with each contribution — becoming a living reflection of community creativity.

Designed by the Youth Arts Council, the project aims to foster connection, accessibility, and collaboration among artists of all ages and backgrounds. It’s a space where established creators and emerging artists alike can exchange ideas and inspiration, one artwork at a time.

How to Get Involved

You can find The Art Cart outside the ARTSCO Community Gallery, where it is open to the public year-round. Participation is simple:

  • Take a piece that inspires you.

  • Leave a piece you’ve created or want to share.

  • Celebrate creativity by visiting often — each week brings something new.

Whether you’re a practising artist, a student, or simply someone who appreciates creativity, The Art Cart welcomes you to be part of this growing community of shared expression.
