Welcome to Open Space: The ARTSCO Community Gallery! We encourage emerging and established artists to apply to exhibit work. While small, the space can be incredibly flexible. The space doubles as a resource centre and administrative office.
In search of an elevated space to photograph, digitize, and showcase your work?
Dreaming of an exhibition but don’t know where to start?
Light Up Kelowna invites artists, designers, filmmakers, and creative technologists to propose work for a series of public-facing digital and media-based exhibition platforms across downtown Kelowna. The program supports both emerging and established artists interested in presenting work in highly visible, non-traditional exhibition contexts.
-
The Urban Screens outside the Kelowna Community Theatre offer a high-visibility platform for video, animation, and moving-image work. Located in downtown Kelowna, the screens present work to a broad public audience throughout the evening. Artists are encouraged to propose visually engaging pieces that consider scale, rhythm, and the experience of viewing in a public, outdoor setting.
-
The gobo light projections use four fixed projection points to cast imagery and patterns directly onto the Art Walk. This format supports light-based, graphic, or abstract visual work that enhances the nighttime experience of the walkway. Artists should consider visibility, contrast, and how the imagery is experienced as people move through the space.
Schedule a time with the ARTSCO director to discuss your ideas.
-
Sound installations along the Art Walk accompany the gobo light projections, adding an ambient audio layer to the nighttime experience. This format supports subtle, non-intrusive sound works that complement the projected visuals and the flow of pedestrian traffic. Artists should consider volume, repetition, and how sound interacts with an outdoor public setting. Book an appointment with the ARTSCO Director to discuss your ideas.
