Job Posting: Exhibition Coordinator - Digital Design Strategy

Position Overview

As Exhibition Coordinator - Digital Design Strategy, you will play a key role in enhancing ARTSCO's online presence and digital engagement. Working closely with the Executive Director, you will focus on developing and implementing a digital design strategy to showcase artists, highlight ARTSCO's achievements, and attract grantors and private donors. A primary focus will be on leveraging the capabilities of our Squarespace website. This is an exciting opportunity for a post-secondary student with a passion for digital design and the arts, looking to gain hands-on experience in website development, digital marketing, and arts administration.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Design & Website Development (Squarespace)

  • Lead the redesign and ongoing maintenance of ARTSCO's Squarespace website, ensuring a professional and engaging user experience.

  • Develop visually appealing and informative content to showcase artists, exhibitions, and ARTSCO's programs within the Squarespace platform.

  • Implement design strategies to attract grantors, donors, and increase community engagement, utilizing Squarespace's features and capabilities.

  • Ensure the website is user-friendly, accessible, and optimized for search engines (SEO) within the Squarespace environment.

Exhibition Support & Promotion

  • Collaborate with the team to create digital marketing materials for exhibitions and events.

  • Assist with the creation of online exhibition catalogs and virtual tours.

  • Support the development of educational materials and didactics for online platforms.

Community Engagement & Social Media

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase ARTSCO's online presence and engagement.

  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, including images, videos, and stories.

  • Monitor social media channels and respond to inquiries.

Administration

  • Prepare reports on website traffic, social media engagement, and other digital metrics.

  • Maintain clear and organized records of digital assets and website content.

  • Support the Executive Director with other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled, or recent graduate,  in a post-secondary program in graphic design, web design, digital marketing, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of digital design principles, website development, and user experience (UX).

  • Experience with Squarespace website design and management is essential.

  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Experience with social media marketing and analytics.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Friendly, positive attitude and interest in the arts.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

  • Be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada

Position Overview

ARTSCO is seeking a creative and passionate Art Coordinator to lead our Youth Council of Artists initiative. This position is ideal for a post-secondary student in the arts who is enthusiastic about mentoring youth, promoting artistic innovation, and strengthening community engagement. You will play a key role in designing and delivering hands-on arts programming that empowers youth in the Central Okanagan to explore and refine their creative talents.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development

  • Design and implement engaging workshops, mentorship programs, and collaborative art projects for youth, ensuring alignment with ARTSCO’s mission of creative expression and cultural inclusion.

Instruction and Facilitation

  • Deliver hands-on instruction in various artistic disciplines.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to youth artists, helping them explore and grow their skills in a supportive environment.

Community Engagement

  • Organize youth-led community art projects, exhibitions, and events that connect young artists with the broader community and highlight their talents.

  • Build partnerships with local organizations, schools, and businesses to enhance reach and impact.

Promotion of Cultural Diversity

  • Create an inclusive space that celebrates artistic and cultural diversity.

  • Integrate culturally responsive practices into programming, ensuring all voices are heard and represented.

Networking and Career Development

  • Connect youth with local artists, businesses, and institutions to facilitate collaboration and professional development opportunities.

  • Encourage youth to network and explore potential career paths in the arts.

Support for Artistic Innovation

  • Foster a creative atmosphere that encourages experimentation and artistic risk-taking.

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for artistic exploration and expression.

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain clear records of participant engagement and track progress throughout the program.

  • Report on programming outcomes to ARTSCO leadership for evaluation and improvement purposes.

Revenue Generation

  • Support creative fundraising initiatives, such as the Postcard Series featuring youth-designed artwork for sale.

  • Assist in generating income to sustain future youth programming initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary arts program (visual arts, art history, arts education, or related field).

  • Experience working with youth in an artistic or educational setting.

  • Demonstrated computer skills (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, social media tools, basic design software).

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with a passion for cultural inclusion and community-based arts practices.

  • Collaborative, reliable, and self-motivated.
