The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan is pleased to announce the next round of applications for our Artscape exhibition program. This program has been in place since 1995, and its goal is to provide local professional and emerging artists with special exhibitions, high profile showcase locations, and marketing opportunities. Artists will be given the opportunity to exhibit their work in one of eight locations throughout Kelowna – The Kelowna Community Theatre, The Kelowna Main Library, The Kelowna Mission Library, The Kelowna Rutland Library, Cottonwoods Extended Care Centre, Okanagan College Kelowna Campus Library, Dr. Grover Dental Care, and Aubin and Associates.

Can I sell my artwork?
Absolutely! We encourage all artists to include prices with their work. ARTSCO will broker the sales for a 20% commission fee to cover our admin costs.
What kind of work can be exhibited?
Artscape shows 2 dimensional work that is ready to hang – photos, paintings, drawings, etc. Most of our venues have a chain hanging system, which requires that all work be prepared with hanging wire. We will not accept work that has makeshift hardware on the back of the artwork – D rings and hanging wire is the only hanging set-up we will accept. All of these materials are available at Opus or at your nearest hardward store.
What if I’m out of town during installation?
Our preference would be to have someone else, a friend or family member, drop off your work on your behalf at the designated time and place. If this doesn’t work, please contact us to make other arrangements.
Who is jurying the work and how will the work be juried?
ARTSCO’s Artscape exhibition will be juried by ARTSCO’s Katie Brennan – the former Curator of the Lake Country Art Gallery, and ARTSCO’s curatorial intern Nicole Young. ARTSCO’s goal for this exhibition is to provide local professional and emerging artists with special exhibition opportunities, and as such the jurying focus will be on artworks of a high quality standard. Artists of any level and age are welcome and encouraged to apply.
