Our Programs

ARTSCO supports the development of art groups and organizations, sponsors many cultural events, and provides programs that support local arts organizations, and individual artists. ARTSCO is on top of current arts and cultural events in the Central Okanagan community, delves into special projects, stands up for members through advocacy, and supports local artists on their journey.

We are proud to present the following programs:

OKANAGAN ARTS AWARDS

The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan created the Okanagan Arts Awards to celebrate excellence in the arts in the Okanagan. These awards serve to underline the importance of the arts to our communities. The Arts Awards recognize individuals and groups for their outstanding achievement; for their significant contributions; or their noteworthy support of the arts.

Mad Hatter

Arts Council of the Central Okanganís second annual Mad Hatter! This extraordinary community event features over 50 students and local artists who will transform empty spaces into installation art. Installation art is a genre of art, which incorporates any media, including the physical features of the site, to create a conceptual experience for the viewer. The Mad Hatter is a significant community event that aims to enrich Central Okanaganís cultural experience.

Youth Council and Arts Ambassadors for Youth

The Art Ambassadors for youth program was developed by the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan to address young people's needs in community cultural development.

Networking Luncheons
Encouraging strategic partnerships among our members. Cultivating and promoting local and cultural artistic activities. Lectures and workshops.

ARTSCAPE

The Artscape Program has been in existence since 1995 and is an effective and well used program. The program provides artists with exhibition opportunities, sales venues, and marketing opportunities.

HONOUR IN THE ARTS

The Honour in the Arts program consists of four components: Bursaries, Certificates of Achievement to Schools within School District 23, Civic Awards for outstanding achievements in the Arts, and the new Okanagan Arts Awards.The Honour in the Arts Program recognizes the importance the arts are in the development of a community. The Honour in the Arts Program provides recognition for outstanding achievement in the arts and provides acknowledgement from a recognized cultural community leader.
