Cherie Hanson
"It was when I was in kindergarten that I first knew that I was seeing the world differently. We were to color Easter Rabbits that were memo graphed and handed out to the class. I worked diligently and when the finished products were hung around the room mine stood out. It was an Indian rabbit with long braids and buckskin dress. The colors were intense and I had done a great deal of detail work on the background and dress. The rest were all careful, in the lines and looked like ... rabbits. In high school my design was selected for the mosaic installed on the office counter and was still in place 20 years later. I won top art student at graduation from high school. I studied art as well as dance and poetry in university. Later I used my creative skills to choreograph in a dance company, write poetry and plays as a high school drama teacher and to construct costumes for plays. I have always written poetry and it is very much the idea of poetry that inspires my art. I try to recreate the feelings that surround an object when I photograph it.

The shifting planes and the sense of intensity and ambivalence that inform my poetry are an element of my digital art as well. The question I always address is the question of the nature of reality. Is there a "reality" or do we substantially shift or alter it through the process of perception. We each see only what it is we see and we can teach one another. I believe that there is an interplay between the subjective and the objective that lies finally in emotion. That is one of the reasons that I intensify the color and the use of color. I hope that each and every one of my works has a revelation. The more that the viewer looks at it, the more movement, shifting planes, and discovery there are presented for the viewer. These are not meant to be static pieces.

Sandra Kessler
Sandra Anne Kessler was born in Taber, Alberta and became interested in creating things in early childhood. She made dolls clothes and then went on to make clothes for herself, mother, sisters and aunts. She became interested in drawing and watercolours in Regina and took some courses from the University. She studied on her own and took further courses in Calgary and Kelowna. She moved to Ottawa in 1981 and studied art history at Ottawa U and Carleton. She was involved with the Ottawa Art Association and the Ottawa Women's Credit Union Art Committee and had several solo and group shows there.

She moved to Kelowna in 2001 and has had art in shows at the Kelowna Art Gallery, Alternator Gallery and the French Cultural Centre. Since moving to B.C. she has taken up collage technique and has studied workshops at Mt. Robson and Mountainhaven Arts in Mission. The icon became of interest to her and she developed an embellishment technique which enhances the images. She is currently working in varied forms of collage and does some teaching.
Ting Yuen
Born in Malaysia, Ting Yuen has lived in Singapore, England, Grand Cayman and Canada. Ting is a self taught artist with a background in fashion and jewelry design. Ting's life long love for creation, art and imagination motivated her to start painting twelve years ago. Once she has discovered the world of relating her thoughts through colors and brush strokes, her love for painting grew and so did the need to make it an integral part of her life. Ting's acrylic paintings and mixed media are vibrant in colors, whimsical in conceptions and contemporary in style. Ting's artwork takes on many different forms because of her imaginative strength, her love for life and nature. The component of her artwork is largely a poetic narrative of every day existence which engages the viewers to relate, to smile and to comprehend that life really is like a box of chocolates.

Ting has exhibited in Grand Cayman, Canada and the U.S. for over five years. Her paintings have attracted many fine art and corporate collectors from all over the world. Ting's artwork is also featured in Grand Cayman National Museum's "permanent collection".
